The first Austrian Treasury & Finance Convention will take place at the Schladming Congress Center from September 13 to 15. Around 400 participants are expected to attend. All of the country's well-known companies will be there.
When current business challenges are discussed for three days in Upper Styria in mid-September, it will also be a rendezvous for the local economy. Everyone who is anyone in the industry will meet at the first Treasury & Finance Convention in Schladming.
And with good reason: there are currently many issues that need to be discussed - from rising interest rates and high inflation to geopolitical upheavals and requirements in connection with sustainability and climate protection. "These are certainly challenging times for companies. The current framework conditions harbor significant risks and are therefore leading to a high level of uncertainty on the market,"explains Philip Tüttö, Managing Director of the event organizer SLG Treasury GmbH (SLG).
Top speakers and a program with its finger on the pulse
The treasury and finance consultancy has succeeded in putting together an exciting program with renowned speakers and key topics. The event will open with the lecture "The world in upheaval - What will become of Europe?" by Antonia Rados. The well-known
publicist and journalist will give an insight into her exciting work as a war correspondent, talk about her impressive experiences from personal meetings with those in power and explain what conclusions she draws from the current global political situation.
The renowned economist Hans-Werner Sinn will be equally interesting. He will present his forecasts and expectations for the future development of the global economy. In recent years, Europe has slid from one crisis to the
next. National debt and the money supply have grown. In addition, the pandemic and war led to shortages in the supply of goods. The result was inflation rates last seen 50 years ago. The top expert will outline solution scenarios and also discuss the role of the European Central Bank in this context.
In addition, the aspect of advancing digitalization will be reflected in the programme of the Treasury and Finance Convention. For example, it will discuss how corporate finance departments can actively shape digital business models and how digitalization in supply chains and new procurement concepts can contribute to increased corporate resilience.
Sustainable Finance - sustainable Conference
One focus - both in terms of content and organization - will be on the area of sustainability. "The establishment of an EU-wide taxonomy for classifying green investments and other regulatory changes in this context require companies to take active action," says Michael Juen from SLG's Management Board. These include, for example, new requirements in the area of sustainability reporting or when it comes to the aspect of financing
.
However, the emphasis on sustainability also runs through the entire concept of the event. It will be organized according to the criteria of the "Austrian Ecolabel Green Meetings & Green Events" in order to receive the corresponding certification as a "green event".
ORF presenter Mariella Gittler will discuss with the experts and guide them through the program. She is known to the public from the documentary series "Dok 1" and as part of the presentation team of "ZIB Magazin".
The event is supported and co-sponsored by many well-known partners. The main sponsors are Erste Bank and Sparkasse as well as the Raiffeisen Banking Group. The former are also partners of the "#glaubandich Austrian Night" on the evening of the second day of the event. An ideal opportunity to deepen existing contacts and make new ones. In addition to high-quality content, networking also plays a central role at the Treasury & Finance Convention. Participants can look forward to regional delicacies, good discussions and a presentation on "Our view of opportunities and risks in CEE" by Ingo Bleier, Member of the Management Board for Corporates & Markets at Erste Group.
In addition to networking and traditional discussion formats, more interactive forms of participation are also offered. These include the many workshops on offer and the Best Practice Talks, where all participants are invited to contribute to the discussion and present their own point of view.
In total, you can choose from almost forty program items over the three days of the congress. The spectrum of topics covers all aspects of treasury and finance practice and ranges from artificial intelligence, risk management and technological innovations to various issues of digitalization.
"We are looking forward to the premiere in Styria," says Michael Juen. "The Treasury and Finance Convention thrives on the content expertise of our numerous partners as well as our own project experience and, last but not least, the exchange among the participants." In other words, the best conditions for a new hotspot of the finance and treasury world to emerge in Schladming.
